Text Box: Acoustic Accents is Alaska’s radio showcase for great music with an acoustic “accent”. Each week we feature some of the finest singer-songwriters and musicians on the planet. In addition to great tunes, our regular feature “Words and Music” provides in-depth interviews and songs from many of the performers that are heard on the show. Produced at Spin Monkey Productions in the beautiful Upper Tanana Valley of Alaska, Acoustic Accents is broadcast in communities throughout the “Last Frontier”.

Here on our web site you’ll find news of upcoming guests, archived playlists, links to artists, record companies, and other useful sites -plus a listing of when and where to find Acoustic Accents on your radio dial!

Text Box: A word from Producer and Host Bud Johnson

I am constantly amazed at the number of talented musicians and songwriters who go largely unnoticed by the listening public. The vast majority of these artists rarely “fit” the narrowly focused formats of commercial radio. Each week it is my pleasure to introduce a few of these exceptional performers to the many Alaskans who regularly tune in to public radio.

Thanks for listening,

Bud Johnson

COMING THIS FALL - We have another great “Words & Music” segments on tap for you this fall.  I hooked up with Tony Furtado earlier this year and we talked about his evolution from bluegrass banjo whiz kid to slide guitar ace and singer songwriter.  A live performance and conversation you don’t want to miss.

Plus a great live performance and conversation with Grace Pettis.  Grace is the daughter of journeyman songwriter Pierce Pettis and released her debut earlier this year to great critical acclaim.  She was also a guest  on “Mountain Stage” after winning their annual Best Song contest. Tune in to hear Grace perform that song and a few more from her new record the week of 20 September.
